Hey all
I'm fairly new to Darwin and its fishing
Iv had a bit of a play at the more common Landbase spots around chasing queenies and GT (although my current get up would get smoked by a decent gee )
Iv now thrown some cash into some quality gear and I'm looking to pop my GT cherry
Iv been going though some threads on here and it seems they are fond of live bait .
Having said that I'm pretty dam set on getting one on lure
So my question for all you knowledgeable folks is what size stick bait / popper should I be throwing and more to the point what tides / times to fish and where (roughly of course )
Iv set myself a goal of a 10kg gee landbased on a lure so any other tips and tricks would be great!
Thanks and good luck to all !

The rocks out the tip of East Point would be your best bet. Or the end of the breakwall at Cullen Bay

Second Mandorah probaby the best lb spot in darwin... but anywhere with a lot of current that pushes up bait you'll find some kind of pelagic lurking... small lures generally but big ones work well when they're fired up if unsure just match the hatch. Live bait is the go, but nothing beats surface action

Tomorrow morning Lee pt 5.30 till 8.00 am ,Best chance on this tide.
But they are best early to mid dry , still a good chance for a Queenie I use the halco roosters and gillies bait jigs and get good results but mostly
live bait is the best .
good luck .
