we are in the middle of planning a road trip to the Croker Island area this dry season. we have to tow over 260km of dirt. sometimes is freshly graded and smooth as highway, other times a bit rough.
The problem is the trailer under the Orange Mutant is a bit dodgy. so we are offering cash to rent a trailer for about 1 week.
it has to be long enough to support a 5.5 metre boat, dont mind single axle but duel would be better. The OM is a deep vee glass boat. we will do all the roller adjusting to make it sit on the trailer properly etc, and change it back again.
I'm just putting this out there, maybe someone has a trailer floating around. we dont do dirt road towing, so this trip is bit of a once off.
cheers BB.

not wrong Lumborghini, Nomad and Agent86 have come to my rescue re: trailer.
ratchet straps are one of the best things to have when your trailer fails. i was using a brand new boat and duel axle trailer(5m GS extreme) once on a long dirt road trip. no matter how tight the U clamps were, the forward axle had shifted sideways and allowed a tyre to rub on the beams until it popped. so i used ratchet straps to pull the axle in a way it didnt move laterally anymore. got home on 3 wheels, but doing 60km per hour so the tyre with all the load on one side didnt over heat. we loaded to the max too. with gear, fuel, ice etc.(not alcohol!)
