Hi all, I'm thinking about building a rod locker into my boat. I've got the box part sussed but I'm wondering how the best way of arranging the rods would be. I want to carry a mix of egg beaters and bait casters.
Thanks for any advice

What are you going to use to secure your rods, I've seen bits of foam and bits of pipe and just the normal old rod holders from a tackle shop

Re: Rod locker
The horizontal 4 space ones from Berkley with the locking ring are the go mate, you can mount one on the interior gunnel bracing and one on the inside of the door if you use gas struts as well and get your design right. The other option is using the same berkley mounts with additional ute/esky bungy type straps. I have used both methods before and will be using a combination of both when I do mine, standard for on the gunnel bracing and the additional security of the bungys' on the inside of the door. Will be posting up a build topic after I finish the deck mod I'm currently on.
Cheers,
John

Re: Rod locker
Thanks mate, I'm lifting my front cast deck Up to the gunnels and wanted a few ideas before I started.
Those holders with the locking rings sound the go.
