With this year possibly being my last chance to fish the run off before a move to Exmouth for work, the planning has begun for some trips to fish some of the places I havent fished yet during my time in the NT. So far my rough plan looks like this
28 Feb - 2 Mar: Shady camp (spring tides)
21 Mar - 23 Mar: Vic River (falling to neaps)
25 Apr - 28Apr: South/East alligator (neaps)
I would also like to to fish the daly as well but by may the classics and nationals are on so unsure of what effect that has on the fish.
I have fished the South before a couple of times but not the east. My olds will be up here for this trip and I understand accessability to the east may be an issue depending on rain.
Are there any other rivers/areas that I should look at adding to my itinerary to encompass as much of the iconic top end fishing? Are there any changes I should look at making to my plan due to tides etc? From my research on here I believe that the timing for the Vic may not be ideal?
Any guidance you guys can provide will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Woody

If you go to shady on springs id be fishing coastal creeks. Eg marsh. love. swim or the wildman.

Sounds like a good plan.
Dont worry about the classic or the nationals. There will be more than enough fish for everyone!!

Its not a crisis unless there is blood around.
If there is blood around......well its a police matter...

Re: 2014 Run off
amendment to the plans, as I will be in Mataranka for anzac day Ill be heading to the Roper that weekend instead of the South/East.
blw: Thanks for the advice re the coastal creeks in Chambers bay.
Ken_Gilchrist: Ill just be hoping for some fish let alone a metery.
Mud: cheers mate, will now add in a trip to the Daly between the two comps.
Cheers,
Woody

Re: 2014 Run off
The Vic is best on neaps. That said, if your are ""run off "" fishing, sitting at a creek mouth will work just fine.
