Tail em also remove poop .

Blanch tails for 30 sec

Shell em.

Cook tails in olive oil butter 50 50 mix in frypan shallow fry with garlic n chilli or boil in salt water if thats yr go ..

Allow to cool if you can wait that long

Dry on paper towel

Add sweet chilli or seafood spec dipping sauce

Get yr spot sorted and hook in untill finished.

Shoot more.

Cookup another ripper feed and ...

Then hook in again.

Shoot another few for the last lap to top up your

Well if u didn't shoot 'em all when they're tiny they would eventually have a chance to get bigger mate. I see it all the time. Cant see the point myself in shooting tiny ones..... then people want to take over their limit of 30 to get a decent feed !

I pass by without shooting or disturbing them on well over a hundred small ones each time we go out . Often shooting only the males too managing our limit easily . I would like my nephews kids to be able to get a few in 50yrs time so have a bit of commonsense when having a go fellas....

Thx. b-radical. You'll notice that most are head shots too.. :D

Thats the seafood sauce mentioned above. Lay em on a bed of cos lettuce a side serve of rounds of spud fried in same oil mix for chips and a few micro herbs over the top, couple of cherry tomatoes cut on half and a slice of red onion, salt n pepper then go hard. 5 star stuff. All on the side of the river too with a bit of prior preparation and a few clip lock containers ....

haha mate I've only ever tried catching them in pots while out camping. and we've only ever got 1-2 in a pot. Use a couple for live bait to try entice a barra and let the rest go. The ones we catch aren't worth the effort of trying to eat!

Keep at it ol mate they're definitely worth it and they're top tucker... But I've never caught a barra on a live redclaw or even a dead one myself. But have seen a few in guts when I've been cleaning them tho. .

Also those 300mm ones had seen a pot or 2 in their time I'd reckon and are pretty smart...I've never got em that size in a pot .
