sounds like they wernt harsh enough first up.
didnt take boat or car just rods and esky/freezer.
prob only get a slap on the wrist in court anyway.
(only get 15 years for murder in the NT)

Top job fisheries, about time. Well done, pity it took a "crack down" to check someone's esky, maybe now they'll take a stroll around the campground more often.

Re: one mad nomad
Im surprised they didnt find more fillets in other vans. At least the majority seem to be doing the right thing. Heard of 2 vans heading south loaded up with 90 fish last year from Shady. They reckon they do it every year...wankers.

Re: one mad nomad
It is commonly thought that it is a day bag limit as I have corrected a few that I have spoken to down there. I do agree that ignorance is no excuse tho. Good to see police pressence again on these rivers and i hope it continues.RNR wrote:i think most people confuse the limit as a daily limit

Just out of curiousity. The law states that you can have more fish in your place of residence. What if the Van that they live in on the river bank was place of residence. How would the cops go with that one in court?

Re: one mad nomad
I believe that the place of residence is based on the electoral roll. I was told that a couple of nomads tried this a couple of years ago on the Daly and actually changed their details through the electoral roll to site blah blah of blah blah van park Daly River but cannot be sure that this is true

If they're doing that it makes it pre meditated pillaging and loopholes like it should be closed quick smartJohnno wrote:I believe that the place of residence is based on the electoral roll. Re: one mad nomad
It would be interesting one for those grey nomads who have travelled around with a "No current abode" statice. IE have sold there home and are perminantly living out of the van where ever they go.itsinmeblood wrote:If they're doing that it makes it pre meditated pillaging and loopholes like it should be closed quick smartJohnno wrote:I believe that the place of residence is based on the electoral roll. Re: one mad nomad
just make it 12 months in residence to use your van/motorhome as your abode...let em spend the wet parked at the daly river and see how permanent they are then

Ha ha. That could be fun to see. Might see a few grey nomads the flood waters hanging ten toes upon a Malabu camper van.itsinmeblood wrote:just make it 12 months in residence to use your van/motorhome as your abode...let em spend the wet parked at the daly river and see how permanent they are then
