Lots of stuff online about the old Patrol TD42 diesel being prone to overheating. I have one and it ran hot when towing in warm weather. I tried everything to cool it better - new radiator, different thermostats etc.
What solved the issue completely was an aftermarket high-performance fan.
Car has around 600k on it, still going strong. Thinking about pre-emptive head gasket replacement as that is often what finally kills them, but maybe I should just leave it alone!
