Darwin reef fishing

Post by Matt Flynn- »

Equinox Fishing Charters has been putting clients onto a variety of good reef fish during extended charters to Fog Bay and beyond. Equinox's John Jordan said that last weekend red emperor, coral trout and cobia were caught, demonstrating the range of quality fish that can be caught on longer trips based out of Darwin.
"Last Saturday we did our first extended day charter which leaves Darwin at 6am and returns at 9pm,'' he said. "What a buzz, we started fishing about 2.5 hours from Darwin as we were heading towards the Peron Islands,'' John said.
"What a day, flat as a tack and the fishing was great. We caught 11 coral
trout, 28 golden snapper, 30 tricky snapper, four cobia, one jewfish and two red emperor - some great meals for all on board!
"It was nice to fish further away from our normal fishing grounds to give them a rest."
