Where to fish

Post by Milly »

It's so excited reading all your posts and really anxious to try fishing in NT. I will be visiting Darwin in late October and very much wanting to drop a line and try my luck. I'm a novice at fishing, can anyone recommend some fishing spots around Darwin city which are easily accessible by public transport? When will be the best hour of the day to fish? Am considering joining some fishing tour, any idea/suggestion?

where to go

Probably your best bet would be one of the charters. There are fish to be caught land based around Darwin but as you are just starting out it could get a little disheartening to not catch anything.
Arafura Bluewater Charters seem to have a pretty good reputation of finding fish and you have a deckie there to give you a hand and teach you a few things along the way. Yes it will cost you but in my opinion its as close to a guarenteed fish as you can get.
Good Luck and Welcome to the Forum
