Great tips/pics thanks.
Been wanting to head out to Shady but will be launching solo.
Any tips on where/how to secure boat while parking/retrieving car?
Looks like you just have to jam it in the mud just to side of ramp, maybe with anchor out as the current looks fairly swift.
Last thing I want to be doing is the knee-deep-in-mud, croc-bait push out...

andy, there is mooring rings attached to the left hand side of the ramp facing the water, just tie your boat off on those while you park the car. they are drilled directly into the side of the ramp

Use your reef pick to slip through the rings on the edge of the ramp, less time spent on the edge tying up. theres small channel each side enough to pull your boat to the side and not block the ramp

Andy,
I went and fished solo on last set of neaps and easy as retreiving mate, as Tristan said just tie up with mooring rings attached on left hand side of ramp.

So long as other fishos are patient, you should be right buddy.

Is anyone able to explain how to accurately judge the tides by adding time to the darwin harbour tides? Or is there a general rule that makes it easy to predict the barrage tides? TIA

Use the Windy Weather site. Launch no later than 30mins after high tide. On the run in you can get out approx half tide from the Chambers Bay tide predictions on the sounder
