Hello All,

My wife Marie is launching her latest art exhibition on Friday, with a decidedly fishy theme!

From her depiction of our beautiful Darwin Harbour, the magic of selecting the right fishing lure, to the splendour of the catch, Marie’s exhibition 'Something's Fishy!' is a whimsical exploration of all things fishy!

The exhibition is being held at DVAA Frog Hollow Centre for the Arts, 56 Woods St, kicking off with an opening at 6pm on Friday 8 May.

DVAA is a kid friendly venue (plenty of grassed areas to run), and there’ll be a bar, some nibbles, and my son Ziggy, another fishing nut, will be providing the live music entertainment.

There’s a range of paintings, prints and sculpture that make up the exhibition, including still life paintings of some of the fish I’ve brought home in recent years, with titles like ‘Tapa Bay Trevally’ and ‘A Brace of West Arm Barra’.

I hope you can all make it to the opening, and share a beer and a laugh with us!

Hi there,

I had the chance in the past to see some of Marie's painting, and I can tell you that it is good stuff!

It should be a great opening, full of fisho!

This is really cool and some spectacular art work by your wife. I wish I didn't already have plans so I could attend. I will definitely get in for a look at some stage though for sure.

Looks great, wish I could of made it on Friday night

The opening of Marie’s exhibition ‘Something’s Fishy!’ last Friday was a great success - thanks to all those that came along to view the work and to offer support!
For those that missed the opening, the exhibition is showing for three weeks, finishing on 30 May.

The exhibition is being held at DVAA Frog Hollow Centre for the Arts, 56 Woods St.

Gallery hours are:
• Wednesday to Friday – 12pm to 5pm; and
• Saturday – 10am to 3pm.

Marie minds the gallery on Saturdays, so if you want to catch up with her, that’s a good day to visit.
