Pelagic fish popping locations??

Post by joel_e »

Hi, I'm looking for locations around Darwin for land based popping/stick bait fishing for Pelagics and also best tide times to go.
Would love to get a GT if possible. Also any other hints and tips would be great.
Thanks!

Check the little land based fishing book at your tackle shop, it lists a range of locatons. Any rocky point can produce on the right day and tide. Be parient and watch what others are doing,it gives clues on whats around.

how many is enough lures, rods and reels. Is there a magic number, considering you usually only catch 1 fish on a single lure on the one rod and reel your casting with.

East Point is probably the pick, also Mandorah and Stokes Hill Wharves, and Lee Point.

The big tides this w/end look good for a morning session , Lee pt or east pt worth a look .
Might hit lee pt myself if its not raining . Mainly live bait down there but always have a spin stick at the ready.
