Great pix. Miss those storms, although I reckon they'll be here in a decade or three ...

Must have had an inch or 2 out of this storm that skirted Darwin Harbour again today. Same as yesterday, passed just below Channel Island but helping out at Berry Springs & Southport no doubt and cools the air temp in town for a bit of relief.

Nearly every afternoon now like the good old days. Some hair raising lightning out of that one and I took 800 or so pics but deleted due to a dirty lens that made them all blurry. :banghead:

There was a whisper of a possible cyclone in WA this week on the wireless, maybe.... as they put it!

Got 4.5mm out of this storm that darkened the place up on Friday while 3 Kay’s away got over 50mm. Hit and miss at the moment.

Was gunna post the angry mother in ‘todays weird cloud’ but seems post has been retired.

Scuds going past again. Wish I could send a few over to the fires.

Haven't heard the term "wireless" for a while. Good to though (simpler times).

Sure could use some of those scuds over here. Don't think that its ever going to rain again.

I’ve got a New transistor on the beer fridge the missus bought me A few years ago.

Rumour in the news is that system Ron is going to pull the weather from Darwin for the rest of the week.

Couple of pics from the window rattler last night from 2-3am with one strike I reckon that was a direct hit on Mandorah.

The old saying that lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice is bull.... I’ve got about 50 pics that prove it does. It seems to be attracted to certain spots over that way.

Must have been 10k strikes last night and there’s a 24m vessel coming into the harbour in the pics that would have had crew off the deck. :captain:

Sure are good pix.

A transistor on the fridge.eh. Haven't heard that for a while either.

Guy came around the other day trying to interest me in a new vehicle servicing facility at the local big Stockland supermarket.

I was in my little dungeon under the house and he came to it's door. I was listening to the cricket and was doing some make and mend with my fishing gear which he admired.

Then he spotted my "wireless" which was a new one except that it had a manual tune (big knob). FM and AM and a little bit of shortwave.

He commented that it was good to see that a person like me would be into "antique radios".

I just sighed and sent him to the guy across the road who is the service manager for the region's big Toyota dealership by telling him that the guy had several vehicles and was always looking to cut vehicle maintenance costs and would probably benefit greatly from the offer.

He scuttled across the road. He didn't notice that the vehicles there were all toyotas.

He didn't last long there before the dog chased him.

I went back to listening to the cricket on my "antique wireless".
