SWA advice

Post by RedDevil »

Hey all,

Looking at crabbing/fishing SWA this weekend (likely Friday). I've only been there once before and didnt do too well on crabs or fish. I used a mixture of fresh fish frames and chicken.
Anyone got any helpful advice or tips? I know the tides are quite neap so already not expecting to get too much. Taking out some interstaters and hoping to get them a feed of muddies.
Cheers

Have a look on the flats on heaps the crabs and fish usually there.
Especially Barra trying to warm up. The water temp in Darwin harbour has been between 23-25 degrees the last couple of weeks but have found Barra and large mud crabs there. Still focus around turns of tide and either side of low.

Can't help you with the crabs, but on neaps try suspending lures dug deep then worked slow in the snag piles

Last time I was at SWA the local crocs were onto the pots quicker than the crabs.
