From BOM
There are currently no tropical lows in the region. However a weak tropical low is currently located over the Gulf of Papua (about 1000 km east northeast of Nhulunbuy). This tropical low is expected to enter the northeast Arafura Sea on Sunday then take a west to southwest track across the Arafura Sea next week. There is a slight chance this low will form into a tropical cyclone next week.

I would say there's better than a slight chance........

Another big dose of rain is the last thing we need. Most of the big rivers just starting to settle nicely now............... Damn it!!

Seems to be tracking west. Hope it keeps going that way and doesn't head south.

ECWMF is meant to be a higher resolution model than the GFS. I have found it to be pretty good.

I think this one won't get organised until it is past us, there is no monsoon to feed it

Looks like a high will move into the bight around the 3rd of May and the dry season will be under way!
