hey all
we are heading off on a trip in about 6 weeks from Broome to Darwin by boat, we have a lot of the trip planned just looking for a bit more info about a few other spots wouldnt mind checking out,
Has anyone ever fished around the Admiralty Gulf and the creeks like Lawley river at all, would love to try and get a bit of info around these areas, or any other spots worth stopping for a crack of fishing, places with fresh water is another high priority,
appreciate and help that can be given
cheers

Re: Broome to Darwin by boat
Mitchell River is a good one for barra, but full of hazardous bommies that pop up at random intervals throughout. There is a good GT rock out the front also, best on big tides.
Napier Broome Bay has some shallow reef that fishes well.
But there is so much ground out there it is hard to know where to start.
The pick of the islands is probably Cassini - it has sailfish and black marlin, with sails showing up in the anchorage, plus loads of mixed reef fish.

Yes, forgot to mention fuel, when I checked six months ago Shorelands was still doing the fuel at Truscott.

Last year we met some fellas on 3 boats (around 7m) who each had a 205 l drum on board. They arranged with Paspaley for refuelling on the way

Re: Broome to Darwin by boat
cheers lads, fuel is not an issue we are in a 60 footer with a couple of tenders, broome to darwin no worries.
Cassini island definetly on the cards, tried doing it last trip but was to windy, was actually quite hairy coming on bottom side with wind against tide towing two tenders. Keen to do a bit more research on a few of the spots, if all goes well we will try and push in around the mitchell. we should have neaper (as neap as the kimberly gets) around the time we are going through.
Any more info would be great.
cheers
