Canada has a bill to ban handguns, more than five-round magazines ... https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/com ... unces_ban/

Didn't think they had firearms problems that needed fixing, unlike the USA. I hope it does not kick off anti-gun movement in Australia, given that we don't have a problem.

Having had a gun pointed at me at Tree Point once, I'm all for gun control. Imagine if every nut job had easy access to a gun

Proven system in Australia for allowing access to firearms. Not sure further restrictions would make much difference. Been well-documented problems at Tree Point over the years.

Statistically, I suspect meth, opiates etc kill far more than guns outside of the USA, would be good to see more energies channeled into that. Interestingly, Canada is also legalising some drug use at the same time that it looks to ban handguns ... https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/31/worl ... drugs.html?
