Beaut fish, perfect size for the plate.
Was starting to wonder if anyone was fishing ... might have to put up a link to Beyond Blue if the monsoon doesn't form up.

They vary a fair bit in colour depending on depth, temperature, and mood I think.
I know they can rapidly change colours when hunting and will vary depending on what structure they live. I'll call the first one a 'Barcheek' and this one the 'Common' Coral Trout.

I reckon they might both be barcheeks. Second one just has the measles.

Yes, they seem to like those fresh fish flesh baits.

Yep.
Local squid first then fff and make em big pieces on the hook.
I'm not a jig man yet... so can't really comment only that I've heard to use big ones.
