Re: Harbour pelagics
Tried today for naught.
There's some schools of massive queenies between east point and six mile but they're feeding on tiny bait and won't take lures.
Tuna nowhere to be seen today.
Cheers

Re: Harbour pelagics
Same here.
Nothing Lee point all morning.
Birds and bait were absent all day.
Some bust-ups out near 6 mile but small and flighty.
Got a queenie and another bloke got a small trev and a mack of the rocks Friday morn from lee but again no bait or birds working.

Re: Harbour pelagics
match the hatch boys when those queenies are flighty. smallest metal slugs you can buy 10g works for me or 3 inch SP's in a clear colour with a 1/4oz jighead will see them bite. lightest rod and reel you own and it's fun for hours!
I've seen too many people chucking huge metals and poppers for naught while i'm hooked up most times.

Yes that has been the story for me...even up the harbor arms...small bait....if you don't match it you wont' get any interest!

If you want harbour pelagics, cast 40g slugs at surface feeding fish. Also if you see fish on your sounder, drop your jig down and rip it back through them.camfisho97 wrote:Trolled from larakeah to 6mile yesterday arvo, bit windy but not too bad. Go over neaps and building tides for best water clarity

Nah. The old camfish wouldn't be asking for advice or struggling for a fish. He knew everythingmickkk wrote:Is camfish back, or is that just a similar name.

Re: Harbour pelagics
Picked up a couple of nice macks off Lee Point yesterday, previous PB from there was 125cm and these went 124 and 129cm, so I was pretty happy with that. Didn't see any birds working, few pockets of bait on the sounder.
