I think this may be the first Flat Top post I have seen without 1/2 a doz people jumping on to say they are in

Big trip that time of year , I may be interested but won't make the call till a week out . I was going this month but the weather and deckies worked out wrong .
Either way good luck , I hear good reports about the offshore hire boat ,,,cheers

Have been off line reading new Wilbur Smith book. As usual my advice is have your affairs in order this time of year. I wish you have starry nights and tight lines.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm very risky going to far offshore this time of the year imho, and if you just going to fish the main bank youll just fill the esky with huge trickies, and trevs in the first drop. There is some awesome ground out there big reds, big jacks, big china man, If the weather gets nasty its not the place to be ,and this time of the year the squals that come with the storms can be real nasty.Id be heading to the Apsley straight at least youve got good shelter. But anyway have a safe trip .

You need to work on 130km each way plus about 100km while out there as it's a big area. Plus allow extra for rough wether.
Also need a reliable boat you know well. Not really a good trip for your fist overnights...

When you hit the weather. As you should every time heading 130 km out it can be fantastic out there at night. Mill pond calm no sea breeze no insects shirt off to sleep beautiful sleeps. On othe hand if it goes pair shaped at130 out it can take a bit Of coming to grips with

Looks like 8-15 knots no glass until Friday on windty barring any Armageddon storms. Is the trip still going ahead.

Good call I reckon, I know it hurts to pull the pin on a bucket list trip but that's not the place to be if you are second guessing the weather.
