Heading out there tonight. Was planning to fish Fenton patches on the tide change for Jews. Then head out there for the run. Does tides matter much. It is neaps, so only a few m movement.

Hello peeps

This thing has my interest up and I plan to head out late Saturday evening for a few hours of night fishing.

What sort of rigs/what should i expect to catch at night? and is it worth fishing in the dark around there?

I was hoping to cast for tuna and bait or troll for mackerals. Is there any bottom bouncing?

Or should I head out early Sunday am and try not to get caught in the wind?

any advice is much appreciated

I'm heading out for a look early tomorrow morning. Hopefully the wind holds off. I'll have a go for a Jewie or two on the turn of the low on the way home.

Probably try to jig up the Mackies. Much more fun than trolling! :catch: 8)

Didnt end up going to the rig. Went to the patches early and was back in the harbour by sunrise. Not too much going on out at fentons, back in the harbour had more luck and hooked onto a good sized cobia. Back at the ramp by at 8am before the wind picked up too much.

Did you end up heading out there?

We were out there last week aroud 3 meters of run Was hard work sorted mackies from the Millions of GTs. Wondering if anyone fished on a larger tide change say 5 meters and can you fish south gutter with that. Cheers

Great vid.
I've only been there a couple of times and as soon as the sun rose, everything except the trevors bolted. Went to the other one a week ago and the only things people caught were trevors.

I was there 31/12/18. The only way we could get a hit was to cast into rig. 3 yozuri's later I gave up. I swam around it and most of the fish were huge long tom or bat fish.
I tied up to cross bars under rig . My thanks to the bots in blue who towed me home.

Yeah, I used to be full of Queenies and Macks, with a few tealeaf trev's.

I guess since its been out there so long, other species have migrated from other areas and now call it home.

Queenies seem to have disappeared and macks are down a bit deeper, not on the surafce like early days.

Have always thought that the anchors would be worth a drop for a jewies/goldie. Seems they're getting a few trickies off the bottom.
