Yeah true that. You’d nearly be getting lonely fishing those spots these days.

Cruised along the Shady coastline Thursday / Friday, the wind and storms were a pain and always seemed to coincide with the high, did manage to find a bay full of mullet getting picked off by some good fish only to be dusted twice on the snaggy bottom, plenty of small threadies and little barra in amongst the trees, 46cm on a gillies mullet,

Solo birthday party.

So many people travel a long way in the hope of catching a big barra. I don't have much spare time so like to spend it casting lures rather than driving.

Fished Shoal bay on 2 march and invited all interested barra to join my solo party. 15 barra showed up for the party. Biggest was 71cm and 9 in total were over 55. They may not be huge but it kept the party going all day.

Guess which lure caught the most fish on the day.

A hint. There are 2 gold bombers in this picture. And all three got wet on the day.

how many is enough lures, rods and reels. Is there a magic number, considering you usually only catch 1 fish on a single lure on the one rod and reel your casting with.
