Once again will have the (almost pointless ) southern round for southerners who want to enter a trout or Atlantic salmon, redfin, yellowbelly, cod or bass

Cod have a -20cm handicap.

This year-long round is not part of the Seadogs barra comp.

The FFF administrator is eligible for this round

If there are a few entries I'll dig up a prize at year's end.

I'm going south in may but I'll be fishing for pigs. And blackfish if they have stated to fire

Can we add cod to the list of southern fish? Technically caught before the comp started. Caught on a recent trip up north eastern Victoria.

Nice post, I had a go last week but no luck. A spot I like has a bl..dy great wasp nest on the track, so I'm going back with the bee suit and a nuke.

I'll gladly take the handicap. Picked up 8 cod between me and a mate in a couple of hours, mostly on surface lure. I would say the hook up rivals a Barra

Had a go last week, some bumps and this tiddler, a well marked little brown. Mini minnow got the bumps, a tiny spoon was ignored.

Took my kids to a spot next to the river for them to stretch their legs this evening and was chuffed to see trout rising.

Also got some bifocals so I can tie a size 18 fly onto 1kg tippet, the beauty of barra fishing is that the gear is all elephant guns

More minnows today, on the fly rod this time ... nothing worth the brag mat, but a glorious couple of hours fishing, river is low and clear.
