A friend and his nephew were keen to get a few barra. Both got got there PB's $1,01 and 90

NBN I thought it was a small Sooty as it was grunting when I was holding it.
But I just googled it and I reckon you're right looks like a Spangled Perch (or Spangled Grunter...)

Thx Daz; interesting.

Copeton is chock a block with these. Referred locally as 'Bobby Cod'. In the 80's they were non existent in the dam; Redfin represented the main biomas and now you struggle to catch one.

Cod love them, it's nothing to have a good sized cod regurgitate 7 or 8 once in the net. Not hard to see why the Giganteral Swimbaits are so effective.

Hit the Daly after the Easter rush, the fish are in great condition with plenty of bait around, not sure what happened to this one but his set of dorsel spikes opened sideways
