Yellow water weekend

Post by Dyksy »

Decided to head out to Yellow water last weekend with a few mates.

Having been a few weeks earlier with some luck we left town around 9ish to arrive out there and on the water by 2pm.
I noticed the water level had dropped significantly in the last few weeks but we still had enough in there to get around!

It only took around 20 mins to land the first Barra which was well under size with a few more following that one.
We fished the weed beds and the odd snag for the next 4 hours landing 9 all up for the Saturday getting off the water just on dark to avoid the bugs.
The biggest was 82cm with a few in the 60's and some just over 55cm.
On the Sunday we hit the water around 730 am and again it only took 30 odd mins to produce the first fish, landing 6 Barra and 1 Toga in 3 hours.
As it was heating up fast we left the water at around 1030 am taking 15 Barra for the weekend with 10 being legal.
Best bit was I used the same lure all weekend due to the constant attention it was receiving.

Ended up keeping 1 fish that was the cleanest looking but sadly still had the muddy taste!

All in all best weekend fishing I've had out there with plenty of fish.

Having trouble attaching pics so I've only attached the 1 of a 69 cm Barra
