Its Prof Jamie Seymour that contributed to the Mackay mayors interview. He allowed himself to be stung by various toxic marine animals in a series of laboratory environmentcircumstances to test for reactions. I don't know if he did it with a box jelly but I saw a video of him with a deliberate Irukandji sting. Looked bl..dy painful.

Not as many around this year as last but they were medium to big in size.
Fascinating watching them round up and corner bait schools then slowly bring the fish up into it’s body or head for digesting. Not bad considering they don’t appear to have eyes or a brain.

I’ve flicked dead ones, minus the tentacles back into the water and watched as the small fish get their revenge and devour the soft flesh of the body.
