Just watched 4Corners; Scary stuff. Foot and Mouth introduction would be a catastrophe.

I’ve been banging on for 10 years about more $/resources for Bio Security and then marketing $ to maintain and improve our ‘clean n green’ premium. When it (F&M) gets in, and given what I saw tonight it looks likely the cheques will be signed but by then it will be too late.

Even on a local level with things like weeds and aquatic pests Australia is terrible at proactive biosecurity. We seems to be better at reacting to disasters than preventing them.
