Landbased near town

Hi all,

I've recently returned to Darwin after living in the desert for a few years so I'm boatless now and have no idea at all about landbased fishing in Darwin.

I'm hoping someone can give me the inside scoop on a couple of spots to get me started with some pointers on tides and lures as well. I've heard Cullen Bay Rockwall can be good but no idea what lures or tide to hit it up. I'd also be keen to hit some culverts when we eventually get some rain but again, got no idea what lures or if theres a better stage of the tide to fish them.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers and beers

Matt

Hiro has some good videos on his blog if you want to chase barra.

East Point has some great ledges for dry season fishing on various tides.

Lee Point is good on spring highs, and on spring lows there are some rocks on the Shoal Bay side that can be worth a cast.

Rock wall north of the former Ore wharf has various fish at high tide.

Nightcliff jetty produces good fish, including mackerel. Also Mandorah.

Buff Creek foreshore has blue salmon on incoming tide, barra at night at low tide when boat traffic is down.

Awesome Matt, thanks!
That Rockwall looks the goods, I’ll give it a go!

Where do I find Hiros blog? I’ve seen his articles before, I think he is somewhat of a guru for the LB fishing around town
