Palmerston lakes baz.

Post by goldfish »

Here's a couple of landbased spots I've got barra at before barra king. I might go there with the yak one day to get a bit further away from the weed beds and the regularly flogged spots.

Remember that you are supposed to be running barbless hooks catch and release on lures or fly only too. :D

Rapala countdowns and xraps as well as skitterpops do OK sometimes. Just after a big storm generally is the best time as the ''runoff'' can only last for a couple of hours. Nights are better too.

Good luck mate hope this info gets you onto a few. . .

Great info goldfish....

Lived Durack for number of years and seen kids pull many Barra from them lakes while I’m walking the dogs. Saw one young fella pull a 60 and 70 on live bait about a month ago.

Be careful there poop load of snake around after dark . No sure what type but they all scare the cr.p out of me.

Yep but she's got to be on a leash and they get a bit upset when my pet 60lb one starts scoffing down the ducks.

Weedless frogs and tiny natural coloured placcies go well in there too.
