Hi guys,

just wondering if any one has any thing that could be used as a foot bridge over the small creek on the right side of the boat ramp so we can cross with out breaking the rail track that's there?

there is prob legalities about the whole thing but the old rail line is breaking and dont trust it any more

me and my boy love going upstream chasing barra as its a sure spot for my boy max to hook some nice barra.......

any thoughts or any one help out?

maybe we could get a working bee I will contact council and see what I can do or if there is anything they can do

The land around there doesn't belong to council - its NT Parks and Wildlife so they would be the best person to contact.

Maybe Tristan from AFANT could help out?

I can't imagine the council nor AFANT will want anything to do with it because they would be liable for maintaining it, providing disability compliant access, public liability and indemnity insurance. Now it's a quarter of a million dollar project. If you bring it to their attention they are more likely to go in and remove the damaged "bridge" so the public aren't at risk.

Timmo, AFANT is looking to increase landbased fishing access around darwin, including specialized fishing platforms as part of election commitments from all the major parties prior to this years election. if you want to shoot me a e-mail I would be happy to take the issue up with NT parks about installing a boardwalk or something similar

Tristan we have just used this product at East Point for the Mangrove Boardwalk, nothing but plastic and stainless screws/bolts so no corrosion issues, engineered to the relevant code. Might be worth a look for Buff ck
