Might not be the biggest cotton project but there is already significant agriculture out there. Expect more water use, siltation, chemicals etc, along with the existing mine tailings and PFAS.

Another hammer blow against the wedge.

People think a big flood solves everything but it doesn't flood every year. Even road crossings can limit aquatic migration in a poor year.

Very few 'likes' on various FB posts about this issue, or comments, people seem far more interested in pretty pictures.

A presentation was given by the NT Farmers CEO at the afant AGM.
A slick powerpoint display and an even slipperier verbal display by a temporary Territorian attempting to convince the audience that the cotton growers are more concerned about the environment than anyone else and there is no threat to our rivers or water resources in general.
The opportunity to question this propaganda was limited to a few minutes and a couple of questions from the audience.
No doubt that he will report to the Government bureaucrats that the presentation was well received and there was very little concern demonstrated by the fisho's present.
