Not Gobsmacked. Not at all.
Pay out every Northern Territory resident 5 times their current Net Present Value plus 5 years income and business profits so we can all relocate elsewhere. then hand the entire Northern Territory over to the NLC and cease all funding to anyone one and everyone currently receiving any Aboriginal benefits. Let them have it, this land will be worthless to non "indigenous" Australians. Australia is divided which appears to be the agenda.

AFANT must fight boat registration at all costs, as it will be used against NT fishos.
Might be a strong argument in future against having any identifying marks on boats, lest you accidentally stray into non-public waters. Bye bye boat wraps? NT might become home of the plain white boat, no pun intended.

Dannet i'm with you! If they want their land back they can have! They can go and live off it and receive zero help from the government. Lets see how that works out......

And they wonder why the population is going backwards, property prices are falling, shops are empty. There are 2 drawcards to living in the NT, one is high wages, and that period is nearly gone, the other is the unique lifestyle and that looks to be on the way out as well.

This is the "success" of the Kenbi Land Claim. It's us and them now and I don't want a another cent of my tax dollar going to any Aboriginal welfare, aide, or benefit program. You are Australian or you are not, anything that segregates members of the community by race or ancestry to provide privileges, benefits or exclusive rights is racism, plain and simple.Jeno wrote:Yep....when will it stop....FFS...we all live here....we all want the best for our families......this really is a way to split the community!

Survey done.
This is the tip of the iceburg by the looks. All these claims came in around May June 1997 and after these two there is still claims 172, 183. 235, 237 and 240. And that is just in relation to the beds and banks. So it could be another few years before we see the full extent of the claims.

Blame their smart alec lawyers, the advice they would have given the NLC is you go for it all then if you get half your laughing. So they are going for the lot and where it ends depends on the Judges.

If I was in their shoes, it’s what I would do. That statement does mean in any way shape or form that I support those loonies; but I understand their logic.
