NT Greens ... Please see PDF attachment. They said: "We don't have any other policy that directly goes to recreational fishing, but I assure you that we appreciate that this is an important way many of us connect with nature. We also refer to the federal policy on commercial fisheries" ... http://greens.org.au/policies/natural-r ... -fisheries"

Thanks Matt. My major concern is the possibility of getting locked out of coastal and inland waterways with no permit system in sight

Haven't been able to get anything from the CLP.

So to recap on their previous performance ...

They provided the Million Dollar Fish tagged barra promo, with Season 2 kicking off in October. This has been a great promo, although IMO it should include the dry season.

And the CLP have new Dundee and Shady Camp boat ramps on the way.

Don't really know what the situation is with the blue mud bay agreement, bynoe flats, finniss river etc. Happy for there to be a yearly permit system so long as it is one permit, not one for each little area

Surely people will realise by now that it doesn’t matter what they promise because it wont happen. Be very careful to read the actual wording in detail and not what YOU think they mean.
Remember, they are politicians

There's been another High Court decision a couple of days ago.

I think its to do with traditional ownership of infrastructure.

Be wise to have a good look at it.

Sorry

It was about traditional ownership of vacant crown land and applied to resources and the right to trade.

Historic and significant stuff.

I can recall waxing lyrical about traditional stuff including the right to trade and its impact on NT fisheries Act a couple of years ago.

Yes, curious if it means there will be more similar claims elsewhere.

It was a Federal Court decision relating to vacant crown land in the township of Boorooloola.

The Blue Mud Bay decision related to land where Native Title existed. This decision extends beyond Native Title.

Need to read the full transcript to gauge any effect but you can bet the NT Govt will be examining it closely with an election coming up.

Its not the end of the road for participants in the case as there's still the High Court for appeals so there may be a little way to go yet
