Has NT property crime fallen? Says here it has ... http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2013/0 ... tnews.html

Says property crime is down but assaults are up by a huge amount. Data seems at odds with word on the street, any ideas? People not reporting theft any more?

Well I got broken into 2 days ago, during the day, while I was gone for 25 mins. People probably don't report half of it as the police don't follow it up. If it's worthwhile like mine ($2000) they'll report it for insurance reasons but if it's a few hundred bucks people probably don't care as much. It's the second time this has happened in 6 months since we bought this place. I can't see how property crime is going down from what you hear on the grapevine.

we all love stats
I reckon it has.
Just the other day, 2 cars in the local carpark were broken into during daylight hrs. Normally they would have hit 3 cars after dark
