The annual Arctic ice melt has smashed all records. Is this record ice melt a concern, or not?

Here's a thought..The number of volcanic eruptions is on the increase..could it be that the earth's core is heating up and making the seas warmer, thus causing the ice to melt faster?? Is the ever increasing clearing of vegetation, which exposes more of the crust to the sun's influence, boosting the internal temperatures, a possibility ??.
Not into science in any big way, but commonsense tells me that if you remove the 'insulation' then everything underneath will get hotter.
Bit like leaving the car in the sun, rather than in the carport.
Whatever, it's not too flash, you might have to break out the boardie's and sunscreen Matt.

has abbot come around yet to understand that the climate is changing or has he still got his head buriedin the sand?

there is no doubt that the earth is getting hotter. it is continually changing from cold tohot
the big q is just how much we humans are causing and to what level.
i should have hung on to that place in tassie. it will be waterfront soon

Hi nomad, might become waterfront, but then the cycle will change again and probably become a prime snow skiing resort!

Was in alaska last year and they showed us footage of glaciers on time laps cameras going back many many years and you can see the glaciers receed back into the valleys then they slowly come back down to the sea, they told us its a natural cycle ! and not all gloom and doom like the so called experts say !!.

The planet has been getting hotter ever since it came out of the ice age
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to get it through your head that this is a natural event in evolution
Bleeding hearts will have you believe that we are responsible for it but it couldn't be further from the truth
We may have sped the process up a little but the eventual outcome is inevitable
1 volcanic eruption will put out more greenhose gasses than man has put out since he has evolved
Work it out for yourself

methane is a far worse greenhouse gas than co2. Termites are responsible for emmitting more methane than anything else on the planet. cows come a close 2nd but not for farting but burping.

who are they? tour guides or scientists?
the vast majority of climate scientists say that we are responsible. not totally responsible.
i wonder what would have happened if we kept using ozone depleting gases and not banned it when we did?

only time will tell just how bad human enduced climate change it will get.

i truly dont give a rats about climate change because ill be dead soon. who cares what happens then, thats their problem eh? the kids of tomorrow will work it out somehow!
