I am putting up a prize of BOZOS for the best picture of a well marked specimen of Thor's powertail, preferably taken from the renowned Thor's hotspot of Manton Dam.

Matt, on the topic of Powertail, are they a fish that is easily fooled by soft plastics?
I thought that as a legendary sports fish they were quite hard to dupe with these"imitations", could you set me straight on your preferences when trying to hook the elusive, mighty Powertail!

In anticipation, Punter :fishing:

Punter, an effective method for soft plastics on PTs is to take off the plastic part of the lure and push a large hunk of squid onto the weighted hook, lob this out and let it sit for a few minutes.

Works every time (I would imagine)

I have got the mighty powertail on soft plastics a number of times. the biggest problem is those darn barra - they will often beat even the most hungary powertail to the soft plastics. if you add a small sinker to the front of the SP and slowly drag it throught the mud you can trick the barra and intice a power tail to bite.

My best session was late last season at Corrobree on a day where I avoided all barra 8-) and managed 8 big power tails.

hope that helps!
