Weather was good for the comp.
Preliminary Day 2 Result
Only one sailfish tagged, by Jarrod James of Let Loose. Bills to Pay played a marlin for two hours before losing it. Classic Sails, the current leaders hooked two billfish, one sailfish and one marlin, before loosing them. The sailfish was tagged near the Bathurst Trench.
Preliminary Day 1 Result
Three billfish tagged, the first sailfish at 11am by Trevor Robb of Classic Sails. His teammate Cameron Briscoe joined him 45 minutes later with another sailfish. The only other sailfish tagged for the day was by David McCubben of Billistic. All were caught in the Bathurst Trench.
Comment - looks like another fairly lean comp in terms of billfish numbers, but the weather was good and hard huntin' brings out the best in the teams.
If anyone has pix of the event, post 'em up.
