Love your work mate. Pretty keen to get into em, ordered a few skirts and got the rod reel line sorted just need to convert it all into one sail! Any solid pointers for a novice?

Looks like alot of fun.

I gather that the first lot of fish were bait for the bills?

And do the sail fish taste any good (like tuna or mackeral) or are they just for the thrill of the catch?

Watch your baits!! They have been finicky and shying off pretty quickly
Some other on here may be able to help you with better advice but just get out there and give it a good crack try an work it around the tides for a serious amount of time all fish have come of the witches nose within maybe a few km !
I try and sit on 10kmh about 8-9km in ruff and up to 12 in glass out conditions just watch what speed your baits or lures look the best swim baits will be slower I only use skipping gars ATM !
I think the billies are out sail city way now after the drift netters raped Bowra shoals of all the bait and pelagics !!

Yeah got me baffled why so many small ones but larger ones mixed in with them !
Would be nice to be able to fish for them all the time and try and cover alot of areas around us and see where they are coming from
