As a thought is this bad timing as it coincides with the Bluewater Classic this weekend. :?
Just putting it out there as there would probably be a larger turn out if boaties weren't otherwise previously engaged.

First I heard of this protest was in last weeks Palmerston newspaper.

Unless there are a mob of boats there, it will look very ordinary

I copied this from the flyer.

WE FLOAT AND WE VOTE: SAY NO TO THE PROPOSED ‘NO GO NO TAKE ZONES’
The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) has called on the Federal Government to establish 12 ‘non fishing zones’ in Top End Waters. A decision such as this would significantly affect ALL Top End Fishermen/women as well as the knock on effects to the local marine based industries.
Pete Davies from Mix1049’s 360, a keen recreational fisherman, in association with the NT News is organizing a rally of boaters and fisherman/woman both from the recreational and commercial sector to show our disgust as such a proposal by the AMCS.
On Saturday, 5 November 2011, we will be holding a ‘We float and we vote rally’ where we are inviting all members of the public to launch their boat and join us out the front of Stokes Hill Wharf in protest against the proposal. We invite all boaties to join us at 11:00am where we hope to raise awareness of the issue to members of the media and general public, but more importantly to our Federal politicians to say ‘we do not want this!’ We expect the protest to finish by 11:30.
For more information please contact: Mix1049’s 360 Producer - Matthew Hepworth on 0427 496 432
