Chloe.. There is some debate about the use of barbed hooks verse barbless hooks..
As a impartial observer what should we use?

I dont know about Chloe but the original designer of the hook (caveman)started with barbless and went to a barb,seems like a step backwards in time and engineering going to barbless LOL

How hard was it to police??? Maybe they are just trying to ensure that everyone is on an even playing field and opening it to everyone, not just for the people with some integrity??

I reckon that as soon as you feel that hook dig in behind the ear or in your finger you immediately wish you were running barbless.

Possibly but for every other hookup throughout a lifetime I wouldnt be.
It might be different if you set out for a releaseing trip but if it is fishing, thats different. Remember, even in catch and release you cant release until you first catch. As for the augument that some put up about barbless catching just as many fish, the evoloution point has been touched above, and logic would suggest that if barbless was better or as good we probably would not after all this time, even be able to purchase them with barbs.
As where Chloie is going with this, well, Im heading out fishing!!

BARBLESS SUX
even a young kid like me me will risk a hook in the hand to land a good fish !
(by the way, yes i have tried barbless .is it hard ,yes .does not succesfully using barbless qualify me as unskilled.....HELL NO!)
if you believe it DOES mean i'm unskilled.that skill has been taken by my age of twelve and ability to fly fish!
