Would a 9pm Nightcliff ramp closure cause you problems?

How often do you use the ramp?

What would be a workable time?

I used to use it a fair bit but not much these days with the bigger boat . Also don't like leaving the car there late at night . Its a good ramp and could do with a make over .
But no ramp should ever be closed for emergency access , tides aren't 9 to 5 nor is the weather .

Should be open 24/7 - let the police deal with the problem behavior. I'm not a fan of punishing everybody for the actions of the few

The ramp is so badly maintained it is not worth using. You get bogged if you go to the bottom and waves wash you at the top.
It does offer some great entertainment when cars get stuck. they should keep it open for entertainment value

Sorry Matt...but poorly designed question....can't give consideration to any closing time unless I know what the opening time will be! I wouldn't have a problem with it closing at 9pm but if opening time was say 6am...I would have a problem with that!

What is their reasoning behind it? Is it just noise for local residents ?

For me, this is the bigger problem too. But 9pm is very early, it's a nice spot to just go and quietly hang out with a couple of friends.
The lockout will prevent vehicles but will do nothing to stop itinerants and youth from running around there at night. I might be wrong but I would expect these groups would be causing more nuisance than vehicles.

I don't like the closed times at all, working with this and the tides that the ramp is useable is a pain in the arse. However an even bigger pain is the non boat traffic that is parked there mainly on weekends. The food caravans attract massive crowds. I once got abused for stopping the traffic as I was trying to back down the ramp with an empty trailer. I politely reminded the occupants the car that it was a boat ramp and car park for trailers, and that my boat was bobbing around near the rocks a short distance behind me.
