Pretty sure the only people who know exact figures are Hiro and Ronje. Have an honest guess!

Is it legal Barra, or including rats. Massive difference in my case

All barra from 40cm to 140cm!

Couldn't begin to work it out. I've never been one for numbers (except 100cms!).

Even on big number trips down the Roper some of my mates are obsessive about counting, but I usually forget to count after the first dozen or so.

17 years, 5 meterys, one 120, too many high nineties that break your heart (not really complaining!). Too many meterys lost (complaining now!).

I'm slowing down though, with family and work taking up all my time. Last season was my worst in seventeen years, I didn't catch a single keeper for the whole season! Including three Shady trips, one Daly and numerous local trips. Caught plenty in the boat, just not on my line. How embarrassing!

Maybe somewhere around a thousand, so I'll vote >1000.

Don't know about Hiro, Theodosius but you're right about mine.

1.71 km accumulated length

23 over 1 metre ( biggest 135cm).

Average length 53.2 cm.

I admit to too much spare time on my hands.

May stop keeping records when accumulated length reaches 1852 metres ( = 1 nautical mile).

Ime just happy to catch em...........never bothered to count.

23 meterys isnt a bad effort. It took me that many years to get my first one. Lol

There's a saltwater guide in QLD who has put his clients onto 2000 m+ barra in his career

Also took me 8 years to get my first m+ then I caught 3 in a week!

That'll be Ryan Moody.

The guy from Rocky that does the tagging for your Million $ fish ( NT media call him the barra whisperer) has over 5000.

Johnny Mitchell of Gladstone would have to be one the top guides for barra in Qld.

Yes Ryan Moody just got his 2000th a couple of weeks ago according to the radio up here. Apparently took him almost a year to nab that last big girl.

The day before he cracked it I was casting off the break wall at Cardwell (Hinchinbrook Marina) and he turned up with a couple of clients, sounded around, deployed the leccy and started casting. I thought you bl..dy ripper I'm in the right spot at the right time and all its cost me is 50 sandfly bites!!

Didn't get a touch!

Caught about 30 barra and enjoyed every hook up !!
Only a few were undersize and most were released - all caught in Arnhem land
