Following the recent accident at the Finniss River, time to revisit the rules ...

Years ago I took a laptop to the local fishing club for people to test their skills.
Not one person passed the test – these people had been driving boats for many years. A couple of them even held licences and one was a coxswain
Scary really

If that quiz is right you must have an all round white light as well as red/green light whilst under way at night? Thought it was just the red and green....

Good thread Matt , I actually passed this time.
But knowing the rules is one thing , Negligence is another .

Ive found that you cant rely on the all round light up here anymore. Ive had some very close calls with drunk skippers
I now use a hi vis strobe that flashes every second when im anchored or out to sea at night.

it literally said 'not at anchor and drifting' where did you get 'under way'

drifting is underway
Under way = Not at anchor, made fast to the shore, or aground - if you are
drifting, you are under way

Some NT boaters must have an exemption because they dont have any lights showing
