Or simply set up a voluntary licience system just for this purpose so nt people aren't discriminated against for doing nothing wrong. The benefits of not having a licience and rego become a pain so as you cross the border. It could be implimented without any cost or inconvenience but that's a challenge few governments can get right.

Yep, Palaran is spot on. $30 fishing from boat licence ontop of an recreational skippers ticket.
You only require a fishing from boat licence if planning on keeping any fish too. If your not planning on throwing
Any fish in the esky the you don't require the $30 fishing from boat licence. If you have 3 people fishing from boat
And only 1 person has fishing from boa licence then you can only keep 1 persons bag limit.
Throw net and crayfish etc are another fee also.

hi just finished 6mths at Exmouth took my own boat get a fishing licence but if your there under 3mths or travelling no need for skippers Ticket ,Also beware from place to place the fishing rules change IE Dampier Exmouth to broome are different from Onslow to Kalbarri and monkey mia Denham area. IE Pilbara region and Gascoyne. And fish have to be filleted at cleaning stations at boat ramps. They are very heavy on this. You need to pay a fee for fishing, crabbing, netting .Licence GO to

Only if you hold a ticket in another state
As of 1 April 2008, every skipper of a registrable, recreational vessel, powered by a motor greater than 4.5kwp (6 hp) (RST vessel) will be required to hold a Recreational Skipper's Ticket.
if you hold a valid/current interstate or foreign skipper's ticket, recognised by the Department and listed in the skills recognition section of this website and you enter Western Australia, as a visitor or with the intention of permanently residing in the State, it will be taken that you hold a recreational skipper's ticket until three months have elapsed since you entered the State.
After that period you must apply for an RST, under the Skills Recognition scheme, if you wish to continue operating an RST vessel in this State.

Might have to chance it with my recently expired Victorian boat licence.
If any inspector has a problem with that, I shall threaten to puke in his general direction
