strange fish

took a few pics of strange fish and some HUGE toga..at the singapore zoo and night safari :mrgreen:

Hmmmmmmm, not too sure looks a bit like a talapia???? That croc fish looks like it would take a lure, sneak in and chuck a classic at it :naughty:

It's a species of African Chilids...also known as Tilapia in Spore...

Very hardy, can survive real nasty conditions and known to survive brackish water as well.....

They take a lure alright, the giant arapaima, or Snake Fish as they are known locally are stocked into numerous made made impoundments around Singapore, notably in Selengatar, the dam beside the Zoo. If you're in the know you may get the chance to have a crack at them.

They look familiar to a lungfish which are found in the Burnett River.
It would be pretty cool to have one in a tank.
