I'd rather we merged with Qld. A lot more in common and similar challenges for the far North.

If you want no recreational fishing and hunting go for for it , because SA has destroyed the snapper stocks, crabs and many more with simply greed. I can tell you from friends who stayed on the yorke peninsula for xmas where they used to get a feed of crab and snapper. Well they caught 1 crab over the 4 days and thats it, locals are saying its because of the massive pro crabbing boats and long liners everywhere that you got to really look out where your going out on the water.
I would say a big no with the merge, SA is a basket case.

Don't see any need for a merge with anybody.

NT, SA and Fed Govt all agreed that NT should go its own way in 70s with Fed Govt bankrolling NT.

Feds kept hold of some things like indigenous affairs, industrial matters etc.

NT has been making a go of it with economic support by Fed Govt.

If the NT govt has got itself into money troubles, then the NT Govt needs to sort itself out.

If a family can't live on the money its got, then the family needs to either cut spending, increase income or both.

I have to agree with that Ron.

Thing is, the original letter was written for a stir, over a slow news period and by an ex (opposition) NT Minister just for fun and was basically having a crack at the current NTG. In typical NT News style, they stirred the pot and printed it knowingly and forced the debate ahead. It worked!

Funny though how other news picked it up and ran with it forcing other state politicians to comment without a clue.

Well done NTN :applause:

Maybe hand the NT over to the NLC if the NT Govt can't do it.
