Hello from Canada! On the way to visit NT

Canadian coming to the NT for some fishing and hiking - yes in the middle of the wet season I gather. I had 2 weeks vacation and I've been wanting to follow-up on a report a friend sent me of fun barra/toga action in Kakadu. From what I gather it's not the best time of year to go - but I'm going to give it a shot?
Anywho, I found this forum while looking for some more information about how to catch sharks around Darwin/Nightcliff Jetty. I'd like to introduce myself a bit - I'm a fish-for-everything kind of angler from Toronto, Canada. Over the years I've been to many different places and fished for many different kinds of fish both big and small. I fish mostly out of my Hobie Outback.
I'd love to meet up and fish with anyone willing to help me out - and I'd happily return the favor if anyone here ever wanders as far as Canada . I'm a sorts of lifelister/species angler so I'd happily catch anything as long as its a new species for me (and likely will be considering I've never been to Australia!).
Here're some catches from Canada/elsewhere:
White sturgeon from the West Coast of Canada (British Columbia)
Plain sculpin caught off the shores of Magadan in eastern part of Russia (drove my kayak there from Germany last summer)
Arctic grayling along my drive past the arctic circle in Yukon, Canada.
Atlantic wolf fish from the fjords of Newfoundland's west coast
