Fuel bulb sucked flat

Before I pull the fuel tank out and cut it open have I missed something ?
Fuel bulb getting sucked flat even at idle sometimes.
All hoses and breathers checked and blow clear.
Where can I take the tank to for repairs if needed.
Any advice welcomed

Apologies if this seems like a silly question, but have you changed the fuel bulb? Could be a check valve issue in it...

Cheers,

Mick

Thanks Mick
Yea I have ran it with a different bulb
And same thing. I just bypassed the in
Floor tank now and ran it with an aux
Fuel tank through the filter system
and it seems ok. I just removed the
Fuel gauge sender unit and tried
To see inside the tank but can't
See anything in side because of the
Baffles.

Hmmm, that is interesting. Would you know anyone who would have a boroscope or small cable camera that you can slip into the sender hole for a look? Better to know what is going on before tearing your tank apart lol. Also, can you blow back into the tank through the fuel line? Worst case scenario is to slide the hose off the tank suction fitting and see if you get a solid stream or just a trickle of fuel. Oh, I forgot to ask, it the engine starving for fuel at all, idle to full throttle?

Yea I tried the camera already.
Could nt get the camera around
Or under the baffles it got stuck under
Them. Then Fed the camera down the
The fuel line to the pick up in the tank
couldn't get the camera past the bend
I can blow though the hoses by mouth
And have fuel flow. some thing has to be
Loose in the tank and block the
Pick up some times that's all I can
Think of. Sometimes it runs fine
For 30 minutes or so before it happens
Sometimes its at idle. I wonder
What is inside the fuel tanks
Normally that can come adrift
And cause this.

An old fuel sender float springs to mind, when they get old they can lose buoyancy and if they come off the sender shaft they can move around the tank...

Is the breather blocked, is the fuel bowl on the right way, is the filter clogged. If all good probably sended float or shitt in the tank. Or possibly kinks in hose filler or breather lines.

Cheers thanks for that I will keep it in mind.
It's a brand new donk so I hope it's not that.
I have replaced the fuel lines and I will take her for a run tomorrow
It's hasn't played up yet with the new hoses on it.

Ran it at home each night no problems
Took it for a spin Sunday. Bulb half
sucked inabit but it ran around up to full noise
With no problems. Ran about 40 litres through it
But just as I was returning to ramp
She died in the arse and then about
A 5 second delay and she took off again
This happened a couple of times
Bulb was sucked flat.

I will give it a try running it with a aux
Tank set by passing the In floor tank and see
What happens.

Mate I have a bit of cr.p floating around in one of my tanks that gets sucked in to the pickup tube now and again but only when going full noise. I will clean out the tanks next time I take the floor of the boat apart.
