Sucker for punishment - another boat build.....
Hi all,
Well it was a very happy Boatday for me yesterday, although my wife didn't really get into it and rolled her eyes more than a bit when I sang "Happy Boatday to me!" Yesterday morning.
Anyway, being the sucker for punishment I am I brought another bare hull yesterday, my second Quintrex 600 Fishseeker coupled with a DF140A Suzuki (yet to be fitted) and Voyager trailer.
The mods list is extensive with a full height padded casting deck, console, splashwell/transom, spotting tower, carbon fibre riggers and padded drop in rear casting deck being notable inclusions on the to-do list.
This will be my biggest and most ambitious boat build to date and will be my 7th so far. So here is the hull pre mods and as usual watch this space!
Cheers,
John.

cheers for your info and hope the boat build goes well.

Hi all,
Just a quick photo update, haven't got as much done as I would like but still some progress.
Back seat out and ribs in. Doesn't look like much but definitely not my favorite job. Back floor complete. I feel like I am actually making some progress at this point. 10mm internal plate added to strengthen and stiffen transom gusseting and prevent pull through of the motor clamping bolts to achieve re-rating from 80hp to 140hp. Cutting profiles and dimensions of motor well sorted as well as proof of concept, I love MDF for the planning phase. Fork ups at $12 a sheet with fast cutting and profiling versus $180 a sheet in 3mm alloy and no margin for error is worth it. Great way to figure out inner boat dimension issues and solutions prior to large outlays of money time and effort. And finally here is the point of no return, took a bit of sacking up and getting on with it but the end result will be well worth it. As usual watch this space for further updates. Cheers,
John.

Some people use CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) for this purpose but thin MDF is a nice spin.deepblack wrote: Cutting profiles and dimensions of motor well sorted as well as proof of concept, I love MDF for the planning phase. Top motor with runs on the board from what I can tell. Everyone I know who has one loves it. I have no doubt yours will sell quick.
