80lb or 105lb electric

Hi Gents, I have a 610 Territory Legend and about to take the plunge on a bow mount, mainly for spot locking while bottom bashing. Definately getting a 72" and leaning towards an 80lb version so that I can also run the engel on 24V.

Looking for advice if this will be enough to hold in tides no greater than where you can fish the bottom or should I go the 105lb?

Understand in the runoff I may need some assistance from the motor as well in flooded river currents but would expect the 80lb to still be fine in a river with the big tides. Any advice to help with this decision much appreciated.

Thanks.

80 is ample. Throw a 3 blade prop on it and it helps a lot

80 or 105 means u're thinking Motorguide? Minn Kota being 80 or 112.

105 lb Motorguide is 36 v. That's a lotta battery weight and expense. It'd definitely do the job though.

6.1 m boat is fair load with windage I'd guess as well as effects of run. 3 blade prop might help. I'd up the capacity of the batteries though to maybe 120 ah or more each. Putting them in series doesn't increase the capacity. just doubles the volts to 24. But the current load will be halved wrt a 12v.

Thanks guys. I’ll go with the 80lb. Can’t wait. Will definitely be linking with the Lowrance as well.
